Position: Construction Inspector - Transportation Location: Ft Myers, FL Are you highly motivated, hard-working, and seeking to join a growth-focused environmental consulting & engineering firm? Job Summary: Observation and inspection of various construction projects including roadways, bridges, pedestrian facilities, utilities, and associated improvements. Daily travel required within Southwest Florida area. Company vehicle provided. Your Responsibilities as a Construction Inspector - Transportation: Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts. Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations. Observe work in progress to determine whether procedures followed, and materials used are in reasonable conformance with applicable specifications. Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction. Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports. Track progress and quantity of construction work items. Perform and document testing of certain construction work items as defined in the contract documents. What we're looking for: Construction experience required in roadway, bridge, utility and/or site civil construction required. CEI experience with roadway construction preferred. Pay will be commensurate with experience level. Existing construction certifications (CTQP, MOT, ACI, Troxler, etc.) preferred but not required. Applicant must be willing and able to attain necessary certifications. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
