Responsibilities

Work Schedule:

Sunday - Saturday, Fourteen 12-hour shifts per month, rotating days and nights

Job Specific Position Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Participates in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, as appropriate.

• Assesses patients. Uses the nursing process as a basis for professional practice. Demonstrates proper preparation of patients for treatments and procedures

• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.

o Good verbal and written communication skills, to perform accurate documentation both written and electronically, effective leadership and coordination skills and be able to perform under stress.

o Effectively communicates plans/actions and collaborates with a diverse healthcare team for the benefit of the patient, family and organization. Effectively educates patients and families regarding involvement in the plan of care, promotion of self-care, management of symptoms, and follow-up care.

• Maintains accountability for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.

• Possesses a good foundation in organization and prioritization.

• Serves and participates in committees, functions and other meetings as directed. Provides relevant and timely information to these groups and assists with decision-making and process improvement. Participates in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance health services.

• Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety in accordance with regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.

• Participates in interdisciplinary team approach to ensure quality, timely, and ethical care.

• Develops psychiatric nursing care plans.

• Participates in delivery of psychotherapy to individuals, family, and groups.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: Minimum Associates Degree of Nursing

* Experience: Must have at least 2 years Mental Health/Psychiatric nursing experience, within the last 3 years

* License: Active, unrestricted RN license

* Board Certification: None

* Life Support Certifications: BLS

* Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.

Pay Scale: $70/hr to $90/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
