JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direction of the Program Outreach Manager, plan, propose and execute effective outreach and marketing to current and potential Single Family lenders, business partners, housing counselors, non-profit agencies, real estate firms and boards and the public; work with Agency’s Single Family and Marketing divisions and other State information officers to solicit lenders to participate in HMFA Single Family programs; participate in training of new lenders on HMFA guidelines and procedures; assist with marketing and communications by researching and writing external and internal documents including brochures, press releases, public service announcements, etc.; complete special projects as assigned.

  • Design and implement effective outreach strategies designed to increase participation in programs and promote program initiatives. Work with other State information officers to solicit lenders to participate in Agency programs.

  • Coordinate outreach activities by making public presentations at housing and other related events and conferences. Maintain community information partnerships throughout the state to inform non-profit agencies, faith-based groups, employers, trade and industry groups and the public at large about HMFA programs and opportunities.

  • Act as customer service liaison between lenders and the HMFA.

  • Schedule and conduct training for lenders on HMFA guidelines and procedures, set training agenda and maintain daily contact with all participating lenders.

  • Participate and assist in identifying, designing and producing written and electronic communications, consumer brochures, radio shows, TV shows, public service announcements and personal presentations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education / Experience:

Four (4) year college degree; five (5) years of related experience, some of which in a supervisory positions; or an equivalent combination of both education and experience that meet the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of HMFA program guidelines.

  • Thorough knowledge of Single Family programs, including first time homebuyer, FHA rules, loan servicing, funding procedures and consumer lender and public outreach.

  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet applications, graphing, desktop publishing, slide shows, HTML and graphics.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to listen actively.

  • Ability to plan, organize and accomplish multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with other Agencies, State and Federal officials, Agency employees, professional groups and the general public.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere in an appropriate manner of behavior that ensures cooperation and effective communication with customers, clients, peers and management.
