Oracle Software Development Snr Manager in Trenton, New Jersey

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Manager for the Forerunner services team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Our tools and services support teams being able to find, execute, and if necessary troubleshoot changes done for any and all infrastructure or service changes around the world. If you are interested in using your background in distributed systems and cloud services to help identify and cut down problems by creating automation and tooling, this is your kind of thing.

As a senior engineering manager you will be expected to hire and develop the talent on your team, work with partner teams and services to remove bottlenecks and problem spots, and maintain operability of your own tools and services. You will write and execute against your team’s roadmap. You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on and able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Candidate will be responsible for

Providing leadership, direction and execution on strategy.

Delivering large scale projects on-time with the high quality.

Managing mission-critical distributed systems deployed in OCI datacenters across the globe.

Collaborate with your team, peers, various organizations, and senior leadership to identify product and customer requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions to meet the business needs.

Recruiting and continuing to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team who can deliver complex projects on time.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of development experience and 2+ years of managing engineers on IaaS/SaaS.

Experience with common monitoring and observability tools.

Strong knowledge of Java and experience with other languages such as Python and Perl.

Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and cloud-based service fundamentals.

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Working familiarity with networking protocols and standard network architectures.

Solid understanding of databases, storage and distributed persistence technologies.

Must have strong analytical, written, and communications skills.

BS or equivalent in computer science/engineering or relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,100 to $201,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
