Job Description:

As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our client's manufacturing business in the Trevose PA area. Your responsibilities will include financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, internal controls, cash flow management, and light tax experience. You will work closely with the executive team to ensure that financial strategies align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing insights to support decision-making.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads. Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.

  • Risk Management and Internal Controls: Assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow effectively to support daily operations and strategic initiatives. Monitor receivables and payables, optimize working capital, and forecast cash needs.

  • Tax Compliance: Work with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time, minimizing tax liabilities while maximizing available deductions.

  • Supervisory Role: Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Systems Proficiency: Experience with Dynamics 365 is highly desirable. Proficiency in QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and GAAP.

  • Experience with Dynamics 365 is a significant plus.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills are a must.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

    Requirements - Ability to meet deadlines

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

  • MS Dynamics 365 Business Central experience desired

  • General familiarity with Cash Flow Forecasts

  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cash Flow Analysis

  • Cash Flow Analysis experience highly preferred

  • Adeptness in budget forecasting

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks

  • Expertise in MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

  • Earlier work involving Tax Planning Strategies

  • Practical knowledge of Cash Flow Reports

  • Background working with Internal Control

  • Experience with financial reporting

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Excellent attention to detail
