Sodexo is seeking a Facilities Engineering Operations Manager forTroy University (https://www.troy.edu/) in Troy, Alabama, 1 hour south of Montgomery, AL, the state capital. Posted salary reflects min to max range, Budgeted salary is in the middle.

Our successful candidate will have 3 years of experience in FM in a campus setting managing Maintenance Grounds and Custodial and experience collaborating with campus Residence Life, Athletics departments and Deans. Our leader will execute our client-partner vision with a high level of professional technical skills. Excellent client relationship building with our client partners will be a marker for success in the role.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Facility Operations , our successful candidate will provide strong strategic level Facilities Operations leadership while working with the clients on all matters relating to contract and account operations to establish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship. Day to day responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring and developing the team, providing overall planning, strategic facilities innovation and implementation, achieving operations and financial goals, establishing and maintaining effective customer and client rapport, and providing direction and guidance to the facilities team. IFM operations include Maintenance, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Repair, Project Management, Environmental Services, Grounds and Landscaping.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • A high level of professional polish, strong sense of customer service and excellent presentation skills to work with our high-profile executive level clients

  • Project Management and construction expertise to manage roofing projects and oversee energy management preferred

  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience

  • The ability to manage the interview, hiring and mentoring processes both timely and effectively

  • Strong Hands-ON management style – our Leader will be the face of Sodexo Facilities management on campus

  • Strong People Skills and Professional communication skills, with the ability to motivate and influence employee engagement and training, demonstrate excellent customer service skills with a “can do” attitude

  • Experience with CMMS or work order systems

  • Experience working with outside vendors and subcontractors

  • Experience with maintaining and renovating older building systems

  • Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building

  • Managed Integrated Facilities Management experience including grounds, housekeeping, construction and project and maintenance
