Corewell Health Image Library Assistant in Troy, Michigan
Job Summary
Under limited supervision and according to established policies and procedures centralizes control and management of the imaging records system. Assist in process and retrieval of medical information in a confidential and professional manner. Always Follows Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.
Essential Functions
Burn CD’s for patient pick up/mailed. Process requests from attorneys/legal copy services. Process requests from other facilities for imaging for continuation of care.
Digitize/Import outside films and CD’s for consult or comparison dictations and contact radiologist when on system for dictation. Add orders on EPIC.
Follow up on Power scribe 360 yellow test results; Fax report, call office and document receipt and close out within established time frame for compliance.
EPIC usage: Print mammography schedules, look up prior exams in EPIC and if needed in Misys. Ensure compliance in regard to retention standards. Retrieve from offsite storage any analog cases. Digitize analog cases.
Prepare exam labels. Verify all required images/documents are present prior to patient’s exam. Verify and obtain if necessary valid orders for mammography callback exams.
Answer phones provide assistance and direct calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
Must be able to manage concerns and situations of immediate importance. Provide adequate and prompt information to all customers. Enforce patient privacy and confidentiality.
Assist in projects, assignments and training.
Research and obtain outside studies for comparison. To include; documentation, faxing, phone calls, process mail received, etc.
Prepare films/CD’s to be returned to patient or outside facilities and deliver to mail room. It is imperative to be attentive to detail to ensure accuracy.
Pick up paperwork/CDs from several locations within Radiology including some off site’s locations. Sort and file by date/modality and/or if CD is present import data as needed.
PACS scan documents upon request; Scan authorization/release forms in system; Scan in mammography documents.
Maintain a quiet and professional atmosphere while exhibiting a professional image.
Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize work. Must be a team player.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- One year of relevant experience office experience.
