Henry Ford Health System IT Supervisor – Data Engineering (multiple openings) in Troy, Michigan

Responsible for leading small project teams and operational teams to deliver end to end IT data-driven solutions; participate in project planning; identifying milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements; track activities and task execution to ensure project timelines are successfully met; monitor the quality of the data by implementing proper data quality controls and data observability techniques; determine and architect optimal ways of obtaining data from myriad source systems into respective data zones including Data Lake, EDW and ODH; participates in requirements definition sessions to gain a general perspective on the business objectives and business problems that are to be addressed by the system; work with Business Analysts to gain an understanding of functional requirements and to develop design documents; research and recommend alternative design solutions where appropriate; analyze requirements, design and develop prototypes and work with the users/business analysts to fine tune the data environment and make recommendations; lead and participate in code/design reviews to verify the quality of the deliverables; design, code, test and implement complex programs; develops appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards; guide data engineers for project requirements; lead projects under the supervision of BI leadership to its successful completion; deliver quality documentation and lead artifacts review sessions; support production systems by helping resolve problems, providing timely follow-up on problem reports, optimizing performance, and streamlining processes; assist in coordinating developments tasks on projects, problem tickets and provide support to other team members; support escalation responses to production issues/errors; perform root cause analysis and application resolution; utilize and apply knowledge of cloud services/platforms, Azure, AWS, and Google to complete tasks; utilize M odern Data Solutions Architecture, Data Lakes/Warehouses/Marts, Operational Data Hubs, and Smart Adaptors for performing duties; apply development skills including DevOps, Python, Scala, SQL/TSQL, and Scripting Languages, as well as Data Storage/Processing/Framework, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS Gen2, and Azure Synapse Analytics in order to address assignments; utilize and apply knowledge of ETL, Data Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Data Consumption, File Validations, Reject Handling, Audit-Balance-Control, Standard Data Feeds, Healthcare Payer Operational Applications, Facets, IKA, Care Radius, Pega, and Salesforce Health Cloud to perform assigned duties ; provide on call Second-level escalation response for client issues and application problem tickets; collaborate with work teams, departments, system leadership, staff, other IT groups, and technology vendors to define needs and facilitate solutions; ensure proper documentation and on-time delivery of all technical artifacts and deliverables; and keep abreast of new tools, technology and functionalities across the application.

Location : Detroit, Michigan and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Senior ETL Developer, as a Technology Lead, as an Assistant Consultant, as an IT Senior Data Warehousing Programmer, as an I.T. Analyst, as a Consultant - Technology, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include use three (3) years of all the following: cloud services/platforms, Modern Data Solutions Architecture, Data Lakes/Warehouses/Marts, Operational Data Hubs, Smart Adaptors, DevOps, Python, Data Storage/Processing/Framework, Healthcare Payer Operational Applications, Facets, IKA, Care Radius, Pega and Salesforce Health Cloud.

Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
