Job Summary This experienced leader leads a team of seasoned business analysts (includes supervisors, leads and seniors) and manages the execution of quality and risk-based functions within the full Servicing division. These responsibilities include risk management identification and closure, high impact incident oversight, , process improvement, management of external audits and examinations including investor/insurer, regulatory, and state , rating agencies. Operational support and oversight for issue management, including internal and external regulatory remediation activities as well as third party vendor oversight. Additionally, supports executives including C level in special projects. Often has to lead and / or participate in RFP/RFI, SOW and contract negotiation. Actively participates in industry committees and functional advisory groups and may hold a chair, co-chair or voting capacity (internal and external). Manager is responsible to coach and develop team members in a cross functional environment. The support team that this position manages collaborates with all Servicing business units and risk teams within the bank for end to end operational processes related to adherence with applicable laws, regulatory and investor guidelines in a safe and sound fair servicing manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage staff, organize and grow team members' business and strategic risk knowledge required to successfully perform department responsibilities and divisional goals. Coach 8-12 business analysts, leads and supervisors in analytical and strategic thinking according to the strategic goals of the Bank.
Serve as the primary liaison to investors, partner with all applicable business unit department managers to develop programs and processes for Bank compliance. Proactively monitor, review, interpret, develop, and quality check action plans for all agency and Investor Guideline changes and audits. Oversee attestations for the compliance of Investor and Government servicing changes. Drive and facilitate collaboration with agencies for pilot programs and obtain approval for operational exception processes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Enterprise Risk Management functions including issue self-identification and closure, annual or regularly reoccurring risk assessments, and applicable financial analysis including all loss reporting. Manage the high impact event and incident management process for the division.
Manage external examinations and audits and adjust processes and procedures where necessary for successful outcomes. Fulfill information requests & loan level reviews, participate in audit walkthroughs and interviews, draft & provide written responses, and engage in all kickoff, rebuttal & exit meeting activities. Includes guidance of support for subservicing client examinations and audits with their state regulators, quality control and 3rd parties.
Support the business unit departments on process improvements, documentation updates, publication functions, regulatory and investor guideline research and overall risk based strategy sessions. Assess existing operational processes, identify automation & cost efficiency opportunities, collaborate & plan effective solutions, execute implementation (including documentation) and communicate project statuses in a clear and consistent manner.
Oversee legal matters and research as it relates to mortgage servicing operations. Legal matters include Consent Orders, MRAs, MOUs, and critical lawsuits. Update processes based on legal matters undergone by other institutions to provide safety and soundness for Flagstar.
