Description

We are offering an exciting employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant based in Troy, Michigan. As part of our clients team, the Sr. Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures. This role involves working closely with other members of the finance team to ensure the smooth running of the accounting function within our organization. This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days working from home after the training period.

Responsibilities

• Handle account reconciliation tasks effectively, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation, identifying any discrepancies and resolving them promptly.

• Conduct bank reconciliations regularly, keeping track of all transactions and verifying their accuracy.

• Manage the general ledger, documenting all business transactions in accordance with accounting principles.

• Prepare journal entries, ensuring they are accurately recorded in the appropriate period.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial tasks, including data analysis and financial modeling.

• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded within the set deadlines.

• Manage fixed asset accounting, ensuring all fixed assets are accurately recorded and depreciation is calculated correctly.

• Handle lease accounting, ensuring all leases are accurately recorded in accordance with accounting standards.

• Use Sage Intacct for various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant or accountant.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is necessary.

• Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is required.

• Must be adept at using Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential.

• Familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting and Lease Accounting is a plus.

• Proficiency in Sage Intacct is desirable.

• Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
