Manages GSOC's End to End (ETE) test program under the general direction of the Manager, Operations Engineering. Leads, coordinates, and participates in the effort to ensure proper function of new or modified high voltage equipment that is part of the Georgia Integrated Transmission System (ITS) through ETE testing. Coordinates with Family of Companies and outside entities as necessary to schedule, execute, and track ETE test completion status for the safety and reliability of the ITS. Facilitates, performs, and provides guidance to others for the comparison of engineering one-line diagrams with Operator SCADA screens and verification of proper function of points as listed in the station's Point Assignment Sheet. Manages the process to test the function of all SCADA status and control points as displayed on the screen. Reports any errors and works with GSOC, GTC, and Georgia Power to get issues resolved. Documents successful tests and tracks any outstanding points that failed or were not tested until they are completed. ETE testing is performed over the phone inside of a secure control center.

Job Duties:

• Leads and performs ETE testing of new or modified high voltage Integrated Transmission System equipment in cooperation with engineers and system operators of Georgia System Operations Corporation, Georgia Transmission Corporation, Georgia Power, MEAG and The City of Dalton, to ensure safety and reliability.

• Review and approve requests for ETE testing in coordination with control center personnel. Coordinate and establish test schedules (daily, weekly, 90-day) with FOC and external entities.

• Manage ETE test progress, follow-up on incomplete tests, and create reports to management.

• Assist GSOC System Operators and Operations Engineers with other tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience : Minimum 7 years' experience as an electric utility system operator or equipment technician with installation and commissioning experience. Experience in an electric utility company or other company that uses automated controls similar to SCADA. Knowledge of electric metering principles, electrical prints, and SCADA systems.

Equivalent Experience : 12 years' experience as an electric utility system operator or equipment technician with installation and commissioning experience. Experience in an electric utility company or other company that uses automated controls similar to SCADA. Knowledge of electric metering principles, electrical prints, and SCADA systems.

Specialized Skills : Have effective oral and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications as well as excellent reporting skills.

Travel : 5%
