Georgia Systems Operations Supervisor, Network Commissioning & Maintenance in Tucker, Georgia

120500-150600 per year | Tucker, GA, USA | Salary | Full Time

Provides front line supervision for GSOC's Network Commissioning and Maintenance functions. Serves as technical expert on matters related to advanced network troubleshooting, network commissioning, maintenance, and root cause analysis. Provides input to Management on the overall tactical direction. This position is directly accountable for the timely completion of high-quality products and services in addition performance management, personnel development, and resource utilization. Responsible for overall corporate compliance with all NERC CIP standards. Ensures staff compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, corporate policies, guidelines, and procedures, including but not limited to, RUS, OSHA, NERC, FERC, and ITS requirements. Promotes an environment of compliance and continuous improvement to meet the Corporation's goals and objectives. Develops and maintains a highly qualified and motivated workforce that supports the corporate mission, goals, and objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Supervises and coordinates the Commissioning, Upgrades, and Maintenance of Networks and Systems including routers, switches, firewalls, ROADM and other transport equipment while ensuring network and services performance are maintained.

  • Coordination and support of escalated problems from the Operational Technology Control Center while maintaining situational awareness and communication with all effected parties; including those from the Family of Companies as well as external partners or customers.

  • Maintains strong relationships with other groups within the Family of Companies and equipment vendors to ensure proper telecommunications performance is maintained.

  • Maintains implementation schedule, personnel schedules, and on-call schedules to support to current operational needs.

  • Supports the selection and development of highly qualified and motivated associates for 24/7 operations. Ensures all necessary performance evaluations, coaching, training, developmental support, associate relations, timesheet and other administrative approval, and conflict resolution work are done in a satisfactory and timely manner.

  • Regular reporting on project status, implementation schedule, and metrics to ensure leadership maintains situational awareness.

  • Provides leadership and support during activation of Conservative Operations, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and the Security Incident Response and Recovery Plans.

Required Qualifications:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience : Six years of experience, with progression in responsibility, in the areas of network engineering, network operations, system architecture, cyber security, information security, physical security, industrial control systems, information technology, networking, telecommunications, or related technology areas, with at least two years in the electricity sector, preferred.

Equivalent Experience :

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field with at least 8 years of experience, with progression in responsibility, as stated above.

  • Ten years of direct experience as stated above, in addition to at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations : Georgia Driver's License. Must obtain and maintain Bulk Electric System Cyber Authorized Status as defined in GSOC's CIP Cyber Security Policy 301 and NERC Reliability Standard CIP 004 - Personnel Risk Assessment. Current technical certifications such as CCNA, CCDP, or other equivalents are preferred.

Specialized Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management skills, analytical and creative problem-solving skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by the work.
