Spectrum Comm Inc Data-Link Subject Matter Expert in Tucson, Arizona

The Data-Link SME will provide critical expertise in executing data-link operations, acting as a key support resource for advanced communications team members, including operations support analysts and project specialists. This role involves serving as a liaison between operational test support units, system program offices, and MAJCOM headquarters, facilitating communication and collaboration to implement recommendations for resource allocation and changes in operational concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of data-link operations by providing expert support to advanced communications teams.

  • Serve as a liaison between operational test units, system program offices, and MAJCOM headquarters to ensure effective communication and coordination during testing phases.

  • Prepare feasibility studies, proof-of-concept plans, and white papers for management addressing operations and test-related issues as requested.

  • Research potential evaluations and acquisitions of commercial off-the-shelf technologies to enhance data-link capabilities.

  • Develop a strong familiarity with current and future data-link networks and support systems, providing operational insight and recommendations.

  • Provide systems engineering and test support for all ARC MDS platforms and subsystems related to data-link and advanced communications systems analysis.

  • Engage in hardware and software engineering tasks, including analysis, characterization, specification documentation, system integration, and testing.

  • Participate in comprehensive test planning, including modeling & simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, ground testing, and flight testing while defining measures of effectiveness and suitability.

  • Support documentation efforts by producing engineering test plans, reports, drawings, and any necessary technical memorandums.

  • Assist in developing training materials for ARC pilots, system operators, and maintainers focusing on data-link and advanced communications systems operations and tactical employment.

  • Coordinate meeting spaces and provide necessary input on training materials to ensure they meet operational needs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in data-link operations and advanced communications systems within a military or defense context is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and evaluate technological solutions.

  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes and methodologies, particularly in hardware and software integration.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
