Position Summary

The Receiving Inspection Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of receiving inspection, raw materials, parts, OPS and production support MRO. This position includes authorizing source inspection, managing the certified parts program and delegating certified suppliers when applicable. The Receiving supervisor shall be a working inspector, familiar with various inspection methods, measurement equipment, instruments and inspection reporting. Enabling efficient and effective inspections, safeguarding the area\'s equipment and devices, will continuously work to drive improvement in the inspection process with the assistance of the Quality group.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to Receiving Inspection Team to ensure inspection procedures, evaluations of received materials, disposition, record keeping and reporting are properly performed per the function instructions.

  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with Operations what the inspection priorities should be.

  • Define daily work schedules and changes in priorities to meet operation\'s needs.

  • Maintain cross-functional communication with all departments, and management.

  • Ensure non-conforming material is processed and disposition timely and in accordance with the corresponding controls.

  • Effectively manage all Incoming Inspection records.

  • Collaborate with quality, design and manufacturing engineering and operations developing inspection plans and measurement methods for a more effective and efficient inspection process.

  • Establish control and maintenance of assigned equipment, machines, devices and tools.

  • Responsible for NDT team and Calibration program for RBC Kahr Bearing.

    Obtain NDT Level II certification.

  • Data collection, analysis and reporting for the functions in the group.

  • Supervisory includes safety, quality, delivery and cost, interviewing, hiring and training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates of Science Degree in a technical field, may be waived with additional relevant experience.
  • Minimum 4 years\' experience in inspection leadership or supervision within a manufacturing environment or supplier quality.
  • Mechanical machined/fabricated parts, finishing and heat treat.
  • Manufacturing and assembly.
  • Sampling plans; Mil. Std. 105D and C=0 Plan, Risk Assessment, Control plans and Inspection plans.
  • First Article Inspection (AS9102), Quality clauses and Customer\'s requirements.
  • Fluent with GD&T to review dimensional variation on FAI and other reviews.
  • CMM program verification and simple modifications.
  • Problem Solving, RCCA and SCARs.
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task.
  • Fluent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and an ERP system.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Working Conditions

  • Sitting at a desk and work with a computer is necessary, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Safely move about in a variety of work environments, from office to manufacturing floor, etc.
  • Remain on a manufacturing shop floor, sometimes for extended periods, while meeting specified safety requirements (i.e., vision protection, foot/toe protection, and others as appropriate).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO9001/ AS9100Q and as a QMS external auditor.
  • Software for Supplier relationships, SCAR, RCCA Inspection Planning and function performance reporting.
  • Knowledge of supply chain purchase order processes.
  • Experience wi h Lean and 5/6 S principles, Project Management and APQP
  • Technical Writing.
