The Boeing Company is looking for a Lead Electrical Parts, Materials, & Process Engineer based out of Tukwila, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineers in the execution of factory and supplier support for assembly and installation of wire harness assemblies

  • Wire Harness fabrication support to both internal and external Boeing suppliers

  • Develop EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnect System) showings for FARs 25.1703 & 25.1713(c) compliance

  • Wire harness component, process, and testing support to Wire Design, Wire Installation, Wiring Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations

  • Aircraft modification support during final installation and functional test

  • Ability to become enterprise subject matter expert for Boeing part and process specifications

  • Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical Parts support, tasks include:

  • Support to design engineering with the selection of EEE parts

  • Support obsolescence planning and mitigation

  • Participate in the enterprise process for counterfeit parts mitigation

  • Part qualification and production issues

  • Electrical Materials and Processes support for the design and fabrication of Printed Wiring Boards, Assemblies, and Interconnects/Wire Harness Assemblies. Tasks include:

  • Developing and/or modification of processes

  • Selection of materials

  • Collaborating/developing solutions to support Design Engineering

  • Review/revise/release engineering documents and drawings

  • Resolving non conformances

  • Involvement in industry and company specifications to support aggressive production schedules

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience in wire harness design, wire harness installation or equipment installation

  • Experience as a lead engineer

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Electrical wiring experience

  • Experience with FAA certification requirements

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $124,950 – $169,050
