Junior Account Manager- Energy Efficiency

Location: Tulsa, OK (Remote – Home Office with Local Travel)

As an Energy Account Manager, you will support residential utility programs, working closely with the client and ICF’s implementation team to bring energy efficiency and bill savings to their customers, including under-served and disadvantaged communities in the greater Tulsa and surrounding areas. This position provides variety in responsibilities and activities, no two days will be exactly the same!

An Energy Account Manager will gain exposure to various types of energy efficiency projects and typically provides outreach to customers, trade allies, and other technical services for a utility energy efficiency program and their stakeholders. In this role, you would be responsible for recruiting and training trade allies and retail partners, tracking and reporting on program participation, conducting market research, and presenting benefits of program participation in public speaking settings. This position will provide an opportunity for you to apply your academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, and build relevant market knowledge and consulting skills.

What you will be doing:

As an Energy Account Manager, you will work with all levels of our team, including our most senior technical specialist, program operations manager, field inspectors, and IT support group. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing desktop and field QA/QC to validate technical project data, ensuring compliance with requirements and process controls. This includes everything from working through a list of projects in an Excel spreadsheet to crawling in attics to measure insulation.

  • Coaching and training Trade Allies on best practices, audit resolutions, and technical subject matter relating to energy efficiency. This is done through in-person meetings with trade allies and retail partners. You will travel to their office location and lead a group of people through a training class.

  • Assembling reports and create presentations using many MS Office programs and industry-specific software tools. You will use Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT, and Teams on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis.

  • Building and maintaining in-person relationships with Oklahoma trade allies, sub-contractors, retail partners and industry associations.

  • There will also be opportunities to attend trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote and represent the program offerings

  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 50% to 75% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education)

  • 1+ years of related work experience

  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

  • Basic mechanical skills and able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, driving, walking, standing, above head arm movements

Professional Skills:

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a fast-paced team

  • Proven history of excellent attendance in the workplace free from excessive tardiness

  • Presentation and public speaking skills, comfortable delivering information to new people

  • Work experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)

What we would like you to have:

  • Knowledge of local and state building code requirements

  • Knowledge of energy efficient building design

  • Experience in the building trades, particularly electrical or HVAC, helpful

  • Experience in multi-family buildings and management types

  • Prior energy efficiency technology experience

  • Experience working in or managing a trade ally/service provider network

  • Certified Energy Manager or BPI credentials

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$39,908.00 - $67,844.00
