Surface mount technology (SMT) operators monitor and maintain any equipment used in establishing SMT electronic circuits. The task of SMT operators involves SMT machine operation to mount electronic components onto the circuit boards. They mount assembled components like resistors, capacitors, transistors, and integrated circuits on the chassis panel. Also, they collaborate with technicians and engineers on PCB's for critical defect data.

Job Summary & Essential Functions:
Load and assist with setup and staging of product on the SMT lines.
Perform setup and tear down on all feeders for all pick and place machines
Assist the operator in setting up and running all pick and place machines
Perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components
Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
Perform other assignments as required
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to read and understand load plans
Ability to read and understand production drawings
Basic component identification skills
Ability to build electronic assemblies

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:

Six months of printed circuit board assembly experience preferred
Licenses, Certifications, etc.:
Must be capable of satisfactorily completing the training and certifications identified in training matrix.
