Structure Fitter Helper

Pay:\$19+/hr. (Based on experience)

Hours:Monday-Friday 5AM-3:30PM OR 5PM-3AM

Job Description:

As a Structure Fitter Helper, you will be involved in various tasks essential for preparing and finishing structural components. Your responsibilities include grinding, chipping weld splatter, and removing high spots, burrs, and rust from structural materials. You will position workpieces manually or with the help of overhead or jib cranes, ensuring they are ready for the next steps in the process. A detail-oriented approach is crucial as you\'ll inspect surfaces for defects, select the appropriate grade of abrasive tools, and operate power tools effectively to remove imperfections, excess weld material, and burrs. Must Have Qualifications: {#musthavequalifications}
  • Experience in grinding, chipping, and removing weld splatter, burrs, and rust from structural components.
  • Ability to manually position workpieces or use overhead/jib cranes.
  • Keen eye for detail to inspect surfaces for defects.
  • Knowledge in selecting and using the appropriate grade of abrasive tools based on specifications and metal condition.
  • Proficiency in operating power tools for removing scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burrs.
  • Ability to load trucks and replace worn abrasive tools.
  • Experience operating a MIG welder and fusing metal pieces together.
  • MUST HAVE PERSONAL WELDING EQUITMENT AND KNOW HOW TO READ A TAPE MEASURER
