We are seeking an experienced Environmental Multi-Party Superfund Site Project Coordinator . The Project Coordinator will oversee the management and coordination of environmental remediation projects at multi-party Superfund sites. This role involves reviewing remedial strategies, liaising with regulatory agencies, and procuring and managing technical consultants to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project timelines.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and analyze proposed remedial action plans
Ensure strategies align with regulatory requirements and project goals
Provide recommendations for improvements or adjustments
Potential to prepare project flow diagram and/or PERT diagram to ensure timeline for appropriate planning
Act as the primary point of contact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
Facilitate communication and coordination between project stakeholders and regulators
Ensure all regulatory submissions and reports are accurate and timely
Open discussion with committees to ensure agreement and alignment with response
Identify and procure technical consultants and contractors.
Manage contracts and oversee the performance of consultants
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed
Oversee trust funds, 468 (b) Qualified Settlement Fund, review investments, conduct cash calls as needed to fund the project
Coordinate with multiple parties involved in the Superfund site, including community groups, responsible parties, and government agencies
Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure transparent communication
Prepare project cost estimate and maintain estimate for financial assurance and cash calls
Prepare and present project status reports to PRP committees – Steering, Technical, Investment, and Executive committees
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, civil, geotechnical, chemical engineering, geology, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental project management may be substituted for degree requirement
Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) preferred.
7-10 years of experience in environmental project management, preferably with Superfund sites
Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) preferred
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Proficiency in project management software and tools - MS Office, modeling software (Fate & Transport, EVS)
Proven experience in regulatory compliance, negotiations, and liaison
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
