Job Posting Title Quality Engineer Job Description Summary AAM is seeking experienced and passionate Quality Engineers to join the team at our Twinsburg, OH manufacturing facility. At AAM, our Quality Engineers connect with customers to understand product requirements, conduct audits, and coordinate problem solving and resolution activities. As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure that all engineering processes and products adhere to company and regulatory standards and practices, and recommend modifications to existing quality and production standards through participation in quality-improvement initiatives. Quality reviews and internal audits key in this position, including analyzing statistical data and product specifications to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards, and determining standards and establishing quality objectives of finished products. Job Description AAM's Quality Engineers... Recommend quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes. Research statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error rate; determining levels of confidence. Analyze quality data from plant processes or customer indicators. Provide feedback to customers based on quality projects (e.g., warranty, APQP, issues, etc.). Lead quality investigations and problem solving. Research statistical reliability by using mean time before failure, Weibull 3-parameter distribution, reliability modeling, and reliability demonstration tests. Develop quality improvement experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques. Develop sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods. Maintain statistical process controls by applying demerit/unit, zone charting, X2 charts for distributions and individual-media/range for multi-stream processes. Analyze data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests. Prepare statistical information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Contribute to quality engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results. perform all other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Education Completed Bachelor's degree in engineering field preferred. Proven experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment required. Experience leading customers and suppliers through the evaluation, completion and submission of customer required documentation, including control plans, FEMAs, and PPAP required.
