This Product Development Engineer will work as a valued member of our professional Residential Packaged Product Engineering Team to bring emerging products to life through new product development (NPD) and to sustain existing product lines through quality and productivity initiatives.

Where is the work:

Hybrid: Tyler, Texas

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.

What you will do:

• Focus will be on the development of new product in the Residential Packaged Product portfolio.

• Complete New Product Development (NPD), quality improvement, sustaining, and cost reduction projects to meet project quality, delivery and cost (QDC) targets.

• Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA’s) and Internal Design Reviews (IDR’s) for assigned projects.

• Perform performance simulations.

• Acquire components, request model builds, and review samples for accuracy.

• Direct the testing of required engineering samples for evaluation and validation.

• Direct the creation or revision of engineering product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials, safety agency approvals).

• Design for reliability (DFR).

• Design for manufacturing, assembly, and ergonomics (DFMAE).

• Perform engineering analysis and design using analytical tools such as CREO (PRO-E), and other analysis software (CeTol for tolerances; CREO (PRO-E) Mechanica for FEA, etc.).

• Complete required product agency compliance and listings (AHRI, UL, etc.).

• Select and specify component and material requirements.

• Create engineering data/unit attributes.

• Drive continuous improvement in reducing Engineering product development cycle time.

• Familiarity with various aspects of design (sheetmetal, airflow, refrigeration, etc.)

• Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.

• Project planning and organizational skills.

• Result oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance.

• Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time.

• Experience with PC based Windows programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

• Experience with mechanical and/or electrical application equipment design.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Must have good conflict management skills and demonstrate versatility in personal interaction.

• Energy and desire to drive continuous improvement projects.

• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, or components.

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt/Lean Expert (preferred).

• Permanent US work status (US Citizen or US Green Card).

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

• Minimum of 2 years HVAC system design and development experience required. 3-5 years of experience preferred.

• Domestic and international travel required (up to 15%)

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $ 70,000-120,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
