Red Hat Proposal Manager in Tysons Corner, Virginia

Manage inbound RFx requests via Salesforce.com ticketing and/or email and work with requesting party to answer qualifying questions as well as obtain any missing data in the request.

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in McLean, VA.

What You Will Do:

  • Project manage cross-functional teams (Solutions Architects, Inside Sales, Sales, Technical and Compliance teams, Legal, etc.) to set timeframes, assignments, and time estimates of qualified responses.

  • Work collaboratively via meetings, video calls, chat, email and/or phone calls with technical writers and sales teams to establish a strategy and winning response and document go forward strategy for response.

  • Utilize and maintain database of responses (RFP.io) to complete questions using existing stock of answers available.

  • Manage assignments to other teams, including collecting and reviewing for grammar and flow, and assemble all participant’s responses into the required response vehicle (online tool, MS Word Document, etc.).

  • Set periodic meetings to assess timelines for response and ensure that all team members are adhering to the timeline.

  • Communicate and train sales teams on consistent application of proposal guidelines on a regular cadence.

  • Provide feedback to management and Global Deal functions with evaluation of current processes and offer recommendations for improvement.

  • Track metrics on proposal response rates and communicate to management and Global Deal functions.

  • Establish trusted working relationships with Red Hat teams in particular with sales managers, sales engineers, solution architects, product specialists, finance and legal for additional information.

  • Ensure compliance with standards and regulations in proposal responses. Handle proposal review process (completeness, coherence, compliance validation, proofreading) as well as compile, format and package final response deliverables.

  • Attend product/business trainings on a regular cadence and utilize knowledge gained to proactively update and/or work with stakeholder teams to update and create new content for proposal responses and sales plays.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with project management across cross-functional teams (such as Solutions Architects, Inside Sales, Sales, Technical and Compliance teams, and Legal) to set timeframes, assignments, and time estimates of qualified RFx responses;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with managing multi-element proposals that require collection and assimilation of multiple cross-functional stakeholders’ responses and compiling them into a final complete proposal;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with utilizing Salesforce.com, or comparable CRM and RFx response management tools;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with Google Suite of tools, including Mail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides and Forms.

The salary range for this position is $74,464 - $117,620. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
