Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Union City, California

Description Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary position located in the Union City, California area. Major responsibilities

  • Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

  • Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

  • Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

  • Submit financial figures to journals and ledgers

  • Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

  • General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects Requirements - Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred

  • Quality experience with About Time

  • Hands-on experience with filing

  • Comprehension of Spreadsheets

  • Prior experience with Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Proven knowledge of Invoice

  • Foundational knowledge in training

  • Experience with Adjustments

  • Skills in Clerical Duties

  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Word

  • Earlier work involving scanning

  • Answering Inbound Calls experience highly desired

  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Office Suites

  • Data entry experience preferred

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Practical knowledge of supervising

  • Solid understanding of Coding

  • Experience with Expense Reporting

  • General familiarity with Microsoft Outlook

  • Previous experience working with Paperwork

  • Comprehensive knowledge of customer service

  • Solid understanding of Communication Skills

  • Good understanding of Receptionist Duties

  • Deep understanding of video

  • Knowledge of Scanning Documents

  • Wide ranging experience with Workstation Support

  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
