Safety Coordinator

You will be responsible for all safety aspects of the site and report to the Regional Manager of Environmental Health and Safety. CTOS offers competitive Market Based Salary, Healthcare, 401K match, 25 paid days off per year, career development, advancement and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with management and safety ambassadors to build a proactive safety culture at the facility.

  • Implement and maintain safety policies and programs including training programs and processes & procedures.

  • Audit plant and shop areas and implement actions to correct hazardous situations to comply with OSHA and Company requirements.

  • Effectively maintain accident investigations, corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence, and other related safety issues.

  • Ensure all plant policies and procedures comply with governmental and state safety requirements.

  • Continually educate and refresh all plant employees on safety policies and procedures.

  • Identify job hazard analyses and provide recommendations to reduce risks.

  • Develop effective solutions to safety problems and challenges within the plant.

  • Provide protective equipment or safety devices for machines and plant equipment to eliminate occupational hazards and/or review proposed occupational safety policies, guidelines and standards and changes as needed.

  • Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, procedures, and best practices. Implement new regulatory requirements and provide control measures that reduce or eliminate risks to the facility.

  • Maintain OSHA 300 and 301 logs for organization. Manage and track injury and illness data and environmental metrics.

  • Collect water samples and maintain all environmental records.

  • Available to assist other location as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a manufacturing, industrial environment

  • Experience in delivering training and presenting in from of large groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including the hourly workforce, first line supervision and plant management staff.

  • Have a current Driver’s License.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Environmental – Knowledge of EPA and OSHA standards.

  • Training- Able to deliver complex training in simple terms as needed.

  • Computers and electronics — Knowledge of computer software, including applications and editing data in a web-based software. Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
