Robert Half Sr. Public Tax Accountant in Union, New Jersey

Description

Robert Half has an opportunity for a Senior Public Tax Accountant in a CPA firm located near Union County, NJ. The role involves overseeing public tax accounting duties, preparing tax returns, and handling various accounting/bookkeeping functions. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that supports our growth and aims to ensure the financial health of our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of various tax returns including individual, state, 1040s, 1120/121s, 990pf/990 exempt, and Trust returns.

• Conducting quarterly and annual payroll and sales tax (use) returns.

• Managing general accounting and bookkeeping functions such as bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Performing monthly, quarterly, and year-end work for clients.

• Handling compilation and review engagements.

• Utilizing software such as CCH Prosystem FX and Quickbooks (Desktop & Online).

• Ensuring compliance with GAAP Accounting and US GAAP regulations.

• Preparing financial statements and journal entries.

• Maintaining comprehensive knowledge about Corporate Tax Compliance and Income Tax Return.

• Ensuring the eligibility of CPA for tax return preparation.

• Overseeing the preparation of income tax and tax returns.

Experience with High Net Worth Clients is a must have for this position

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a CPA firm

• Proficiency in GAAP Accounting and US GAAP is required

• Must have experience in preparing annual income tax provision

• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem fx - Tax Compliance software is essential

• Experience in handling complex tax return and corporate tax compliance

• Proficiency in preparing income tax return and individual tax return

• Must be skilled in using Quickbooks Online and QuickBooks

• Experience in preparing financial statements, profit & loss, income tax, journal entries, and tax returns is necessary

• Experience in bank reconciliations, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) is required.
