POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting with employee and labor relations, collaborating with various employee groups, and supporting initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture. Must possess effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities is required. In addition, this position will serve as a Title IX backup coordinator, conduct assigned investigations, and ensure ADA compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Labor Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for collective bargaining units to provide support and facilitate communication. Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquires related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements, referring matters to HR leadership as appropriate. Participate in contract negotiations as needed. Assist with compiling appropriate and necessary data for negotiations, including comparison information on wages, benefits, and comparative contract language. Coordinate the grievance process as needed.

``` - Compliance Support: Assist the Title IX Coordinator in ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to gender discrimination and sexual misconduct. Provide guidance and support to employees and students as needed regarding Title IX policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms. In collaboration with the Title IX Coordinator and the Center for Organizational Success (COS), assists in delivering training sessions and educational programs to raise awareness and prevent instances of sexual harassment and misconduct in the workplace.

``` - Human Resources Investigations: Under the direction of the HR Director, the position gathers information and conducts thorough and impartial investigations into complaints or allegations of employee misconduct, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, and policy violations. Responsibilities include collecting evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings in accordance with established procedures and legal requirements. Works collaboratively with HR leadership to recommend corrective actions and preventive measures based on investigation outcomes.

``` - ADA: Serves as the primary contact to respond to questions from staff and management regarding ADA compliance and accommodation requests. Evaluates, researches, and administers employee requests for workplace accommodations. Facilitates and participates in the interactive process to identify and assess options for providing reasonable accommodations and access to eligible employees in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability laws.

Employee Retention Efforts: Supports the development and implementation of retention strategies that includes professional development, succession planning, and career advancement programs. Uses data from culture surveys, staff satisfaction surveys, and exit interviews to gather feedback and insight
