JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Pennsylvania State University Office of Budget and Finance invites applications for the position of Floating Accounting Assistant to support accounting operations across the University. This position is intended to provide support when vacancies or projects requiring additional help occur. This important role is geared towards providing comprehensive accounting support to faculty and staff in Academic and/or Administrative units.

The Accounting Assistant will have a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: Reconciling, reviewing, and approving accounting records and transactions Processing journal entries Maintaining vendor database and processing vendor invoices Making corrections to transactions and databases Calculating revenue, expenditure, and budget transactions Analyzing accounting reports for accuracy and completeness; researching and solving accounting problems; and determining proper classification and coding of income and expenditures Developing and maintaining reports as needed

Education and Experience Excellent customer service skills with a focus on providing supportive and responsive service Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work both independently and as a team Team player attitude with a commitment to creating a positive and efficient working environment

This position will be filled at the Intermediate Support level.  Minimally requires High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination or education and experience.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $38,300.00 - $55,500.00
