JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Entomology at Penn State seeks a distinguished, senior level chemical ecologist to serve as a short-term visiting instructor and scholar. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to graduate education, collaborate on research, and enrich our academic community.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering an advanced level course in chemical ecology offered to graduate students.

• Establishment of research collaborations among other faculty in the Department is expected.

• Mentoring of graduate students and serving on student thesis committees is encouraged.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Chemical Ecology or Related Field: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in chemical ecology, including expertise in natural product chemistry, behavioral ecology, and ecological interactions.

• Research Excellence: Demonstrated excellence in research, as evidenced by publications in reputable journals and successful grant applications.

• Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching at the graduate level is desirable.

• Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and external partners.

Duration and Compensation:

• The visiting scholar position is temporary, typically ranging up to one semester per academic year. Renewal of the position is possible.

• Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
