JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Education Abroad office located within Penn State Global is the primary administrative office facilitating education abroad opportunities at all Penn State campuses.

The Education Abroad office is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Data Assistant to begin in the fall 2024 semester and continue through the spring 2025 semester. This position will assist Education Abroad primarily with data collection and processing as well as the creation of data visualizations and dashboards using Excel, PowerBi, or similar tools. In addition, the Data Assistant will perform data entry and general office tasks to support the overall mission of Education Abroad.

Ideally the Data Assistant will join Education Abroad in early October for training and will be available to work 10 hours per week for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 terms. The position will be located in the Boucke Building at the Penn State University Park campus.

Remote work will not be possible.

Job Duties

Primary responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain data in spreadsheets

  • Monitor and process survey responses

  • Assist with data analysis and visualization creation

  • Conduct administrative tasks and general office duties like document scanning and filing

  • Complete additional projects assigned by their supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365

  • Familiarity with data processing using spreadsheets, PowerBI, or similar tools

  • Ability to work independently on complex projects

  • Eagerness to learn
