JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Overview:

Penn State University Press (PSUP) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented team player for the position of Marketing and Sales Coordinator. This role reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and is an integral part of the overall department and will interact regularly with authors, vendors, and Press colleagues. Role location:

Local to the State College, Pennsylvania; hybrid work schedule permitted, but a minimum of three days at the Press office is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibits: responsible for the annual planning and management of PSUP’s exhibit program including the development of ROI measurement reporting; coordinating all logistics, including booking space and furnishings, program advertisements, creating and routing book lists, payment and invoicing, and arranging for shipment of books and supplies. Some travel to industry trade shows and conferences will be required.

  • Seasonal catalog assets management: routing title list for internal feedback; gathering copy and art files to send to freelancer; vetting proofs and expediting work between freelancer and internal team; creating and populating the seasonal catalog in Edelweiss; creating and coordinating graphic design materials as needed.

  • Sales support/sales analytics: working with sales specialist developing sales target customer lists; retrieving inventory and title reports via vendor portals; providing data analysis for the Press’s book distribution partners; overseeing low inventory communications.

  • Author events: Handling the sales end of author events, relaying information to reps, fulfillment, authors, and venues.

  • Desk/Exam copy requests: vetting requests and filling orders.

Job Requirements

A bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and/or experience required. Prior experience with administrative and/or sales/marketing is preferred but not required; familiarity with Excel; experience with Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign in particular) excellent organizational, proofreading, and effective written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; and ability to multitask and adhere to strict budgets and schedules.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00
