Northrop Grumman Corporate Cyber Security is seeking a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer. This position is remote/virtual, though will require significant amounts of in-person travel and will be directly supporting manufacturing sites/locations across the United States.

Roles and Responsibilities

Candidates will visit and assess Northrop Grumman manufacturing sites, applying a cyber security lens to how cyber risk can be reduced while improving productivity for site employees. This role has significant visibility and exposure across multiple sectors of NGC.

Job duties include , but not limited to:

  • Perform risk assessments of manufacturing site IT and OT (operational technology) equipment for potential security concerns.

  • Guide manufacturing site staff and sector CISO teams with cyber uplift activities for identified cyber risks.

  • Evaluation of new manufacturing IT/OT equipment for usage within manufacturing sites.

  • Provide input on potential new security solutions and designs in support of manufacturing environments.

  • Assist manufacturing site personnel with documentation of site security posture.

  • Serve as a security liaison on behalf of NGC with selected vendors and their products.

Role Expectations:

Candidate should be comfortable working across many different teams, sites, and with a variety of different computing environments. Successful candidates will be willing to explore and be comfortable discussing network and systems architecture and various operating systems (Windows, and different Linux flavors). Being able to research different technologies and ‘get up to speed’ quickly is essential to success in this role. Candidate should also be comfortable working independently without supervision and direct daily tasking.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR an Associate's Degree with 7 years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have experience working with TCP/IP Protocols

  • Must have experience working with Linux / Command Line

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD 8570 IAT/IAM Level II or III certification a plus (Comptia Security+, CISSP, etc)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable explaining technical details to a non-technical audience

  • Comfortable navigating a matrixed organization

  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders across functional and technical skillsets

  • Experience with NIST publications, (NIST 800-53, 800-171, 800-82)

  • Experience with ISA/IEC 64223 standards, certifications a plus.

  • Experience with Cisco ISE/DNAC

  • Experience with Beckhoff “SoftPLCs” and FANUC PLCs

  • Experience with Kali Linux and basic penetration testing tools and techniques

  • Nmap, Wireshark, Bluetooth Scanning, Firmware Analysis

Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
