Job Summary

As the Child Welfare Program Specialist, you will be responsible for providing onsite coaching to caseworkers and supervisors through practice shadowing and feedback.

Job Description

We are looking for a Child Welfare Program Specialist to provide onsite coaching to caseworkers and supervisors through practice shadowing and feedback . This position will be part-time contract and onsite with travel.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist County Children, Youth andFamily Serviceswith the development and implementation of theCounty CYFtraining program, formal practice coaching program and new employee on-boarding process

  • ProvideField-level coaching strategies includingindividual coaching sessions with Caseworkers;group consultation;quality reviewsof assessments,plans, field work,andfamilystaffing;participation instaff meetings;andfacilitatingin-house trainings and workshops for staff

  • Facilitate team decision making processes to model the integration of the Consultation andInformation SharingFramework into processes

  • Develop and provide supportforstaff mentors

  • Aideemployeeswith developing effectiveschedulingand workpractices, completing quality caseworkandcase documentation, anddeveloping andimplementingsituational safetyawareness andprotocols

  • Be availableas a resource and subject matter expert in program areas,providingtechnical guidance to staff

  • Meet with Caseworkers,Supervisors,and management level team memberstoestablishgoals and desired outcomespertaining toskills, tools, and techniques staff members would like toutilizeand improve upon

  • Provide one-on-one coaching to staff in field situations such as home visits, court proceedings, family meetings/staffing

  • Provide in-office coaching to staff focused onidentifying, practicing, and enhancing technical skills he/she will use to engage children and families

  • Provide Caseworkers with access to one-on-one coaching, focused on improving critical thinking skills and developing risk statements

  • Help Supervisors develop their coaching skills so they can effectively coach staff members and plan for future coaching activities

  • Evaluate the training program and communicate recommendations to administratorsfor improvement

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, asrequired

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Human Behavioral Science isrequired

  • Fiveyears of professionalChild WelfareCasework experience isrequired, including at least 2 years of experience as a casework supervisor, casework manager or program specialist

  • Master’s Degree in SocialWorker maybesubstitute for1year ofnon-supervisor or non-managementrequired experience

  • Proof of education and licensure, where applicable, arerequired

  • Strongwritten and verbal communicationskills andtechniques forreport writing, correspondence, providing customer service, giving presentations,public speaking, directions, and feedback

  • Knowledge of adult education principles and the ability to provide training to groups and provide one-on-one coaching for caseworkers, supervisors, and teams

  • Ability to prepare and deliver large group oral presentations

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to coach and mentor individuals who may need support withemotional intelligence,conflict resolution,de-escalationtechnique and self-care strategies

  • Ability toestablish, maintain, and foster positive, harmonious working relationships

  • Proficient in MicrosoftOutlook,Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite products

  • Possess the ability to develop and present training materials

  • PennsylvaniaChild WelfareCasework certification isrequired

  • Possession of a Pennsylvania Driver's License and proof of automotive insurance arerequired

  • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background checkand drugscreening

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
