The Human Resources Directorate has an opening for an HR Coordinator who will provide administrative support to the talent acquisition team in a full cycle, high-volume recruitment environment.

This position is a primary point of contact for a highly diverse, multicultural population, both within and outside the Laboratory and regularly interfaces with HR managers, hiring managers, department administrators, employees, and job applicants.

Supporting a full cycle recruitment process by:

  • Assisting with the hiring process, including coordinating required site registrations and dispositioning candidates

  • Scheduling candidate interviews (panels and one-on-one) within high volume Outlook calendars

  • Verifying educational degrees and/or certifications

  • Scheduling pre-placement and inform OMC regarding initial physicals

  • Coordinating visa evaluation process, including collection of documents

  • Preparing offer packages (i.e., offer letters, relocation)

  • Tracking applicant workflow processes and documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency

  • Serving as a key point of contact for hiring managers, candidates and new hires, answering questions and providing information, as necessary

  • Maintaining employee confidence and protecting operations by keeping human resource information confidential

  • Supporting Talent Acquisition and other HR initiatives and projects as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or eight (8) years' full-time, contemporary, directly related experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with knowledge of, or ability to learn, SharePoint

  • Experience with Workday, or similar Human Resource Management system or other data base system

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation for internal customers and candidates

  • Detailed oriented. Solid organization and time management skills.

  • Good problem solving skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position

  • Experience with applicant tracking database systems

  • Knowledge of OFCCP compliance rules

  • Additional education in fields specifically related to the position requirements may offset qualifying experience.

Brookhaven National Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $65650 - $77000 / year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
