Health & Kinesiology
The Department of Health and Kinesiology (HK) seeks a full-time (12-month) Visiting Research Evaluation Specialist. This position will be responsible for developing, conducting, disseminating, and supporting all phases of research and evaluation related to the career development, employment, and well-being of individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Research & Evaluation Responsibilities
Manage research and evaluation projects, including designing research methods, collecting, and analyzing data, and presenting findings.
Develop research projects and conduct all phases of the research project, including designing research methods, collecting, and analyzing data, and presenting findings.
Ensure research and evaluation methods are consistent, accurate, and reliable and appropriate to achieve project goals.
Analyze data using statistical methods and software, such as SPSS or SAS.
Provide regular reports to senior personnel on research and evaluation progress and findings.
Ensure that research and evaluation projects meet all ethical and legal guidelines.
Collaborate with other entities on campus and at partnering institutions to conduct all phases of research and evaluation projects.
Work with the director of evaluation to provide support across all phases of the project evaluation process for grant funded projects.
Stay up to date on current trends, best practices, and emerging research and evaluation methods related to career development, employment, and well-being of individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
Training & Technical Assistance
Use research and evaluation findings to develop and deliver career development-related technical assistance to State VR and related agencies to enhance their capacity to implement and sustain employment strategies to enable individuals with disabilities to achieve quality employment, career advancement, and increased well-being.
Use research and evaluation findings to develop and deliver career development-related training to State VR agency, community rehabilitation providers, and other related personnel.
Use research and evaluation findings to develop and deliver training and technical assistance to Illinois Division of Rehabilitation Services and related organizations.
Disseminate career development-related technical assistance resources including fact sheets, article summaries, case study vignettes, literature reviews, presentations at state and national professional meetings, and manuscripts for submission to professional journals.
Qualifications
Required:
MS Rehabilitation or closely related field
2 Years of experience working on supporting employment for people with disabilities in a community setting
Preferred:
Ph,D. Rehabilitation or closely related field
Required experience plus 1 year of experience conducting research and program evaluation related to competitive integrated employment and interagency collaboration
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting data
Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results
Interest and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Interest in improving the career development, employment, and well-being of individuals with disabilities through research, evaluation, training, and technical assistance
Appointment Information
This position is a 100% full-time Visiting Academic Professional position. This is a full-time, benefits-eligi le position of limited duration. As this position is grant funded, it is subject to the continued availability of funding and programmatic need. The expected duration is three years. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The salary range for this position is \$90,000.00 to \$100,000.00. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
