Sales Compensation Financial Analyst

The Sales Compensation Financial Analyst will play a key role in building and managing various compensation plans across the organization. The position is responsible for the development of the annual sales compensation plans, tracking/reporting rep productivity and other key financial metrics. The individual will form relationships with functional owners and structure conversations for smart business decisions, enhance reporting capabilities, encourage open communication among the team and establish a framework for accountability. This position is ideal for someone intellectually curious, highly detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, resourceful, and proactive. The right candidate will exhibit outstanding judgment, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous, work environment. He/she will need to comfortably interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, including senior executives. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, exceptionally driven, looking to grow their career rapidly and eager to get involved with many areas of the business.

Below is an overview of the expectations that are intended to show the basic levels of support required in this role. Ad Hoc analysis and reporting are inevitable components of the function in addition to the specific items noted below.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual sales compensation process including build-up, impact analysis and rollout

  • Partner with management on development of Delivery, BDR, SC and executive management Plans

  • Create and distribute all plans once finalized

  • Manage quarterly adjustments to Plans as needed

  • Regular scenario planning for Plan attainment

  • Run monthly sales commission calculations in Incent for payment to reps and record commission accruals

  • Calculate and post monthly 606 calculations for deferred commissions and commission amortization expense

  • Drive automation through existing systems for management reporting wherever possible

  • Support finance team for other Ad Hoc analysis

  • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Financial reporting / Sales Reporting / familiarity with ARR, SaaS metrics and sales comp structures

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar subject area

  • Advanced Excel and business modeling skills

  • Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment

  • Comfortable learning and managing new financial systems

  • Great communication skills that will allow you to interact and work with others that do not have a direct-line reporting responsibility to you

  • Must be extremely well-organized with the ability to multi-task across multiple deliverables, bias towards productivity

  • Effective presentation skills and experience working with executive leadership

  • Prior experience and proficiency using NetSuite, Adaptive, Xactly, SalesForce and Incent or comparable software tools preferred

  • Prior experience modeling and presenting data using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
