Electrical Test Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Test setup creation including instrumentation and assemblies; power module (IGBT + diode) testing; root cause analysis of power electronic components and systems; electrical wiring changes and test fixture creation; compile and organize technical data; prepare project reports; design and test electrical systems and components; evaluate systems and applications; develop electrical products based on customer requirements and research; design and modify manufacturing equipment; improve manufacturing processes; assure product quality through electrical testing methods; drive continuous improvement using lean and six sigma methodologies; evaluate and recommend repairs or replacement for production equipment and tooling; maintain equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; maintain product database; write computer programs and enter data.

Background & Skills

Master’s degree in Engineering Science orElectrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Controls Engineering, with 6 months experience involvingtestequipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, function generators & data acquisition systems) andelectricaland electronic diagrams, one-lines, and schematics. In lieu of master’s plus experience, bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science orElectrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Controls Engineering, with 3 years experience involvingtestequipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, function generators & data acquisition systems) andelectricaland electronic diagrams, one-lines, and schematics.

Rate of pay: $97,000 – $102,000 per year
