The Family Specialist is responsible for coordinating therapeutic activities for youth and families so youth can live safely, productively and independently within their home community.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains positive partnership with referring agency including coordinating required services for youth and families, maintaining timely and effective communication regarding case activities.

• Assists with providing crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns.

• Provides supportive case work counseling to youth and families including all assessments, treatment and discharged plans.

• Coordinates psycho-educational groups as needed.

• Schedules and ensures youth’s home visits are goal oriented and work toward building trust, communication and healthy relationships.

• Facilitate comprehensive treatment reviews according to agency and state regulations.

• Completes all state mandated and agency documentation according to policy and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required. MSW preferred.

• Minimum of 1-3 yrs. of experience working with diverse youth and families.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night and weekend hours as necessary.

• Must have a current and valid driver's license with acceptable driving history to the Agency.

• Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.

• Skills: Ability to handle crisis intervention in solution focused manner as well as communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills.

Schedule

Varies week by week, includes evening hours; ability to work a flexible work schedule is required

Pay

$25 per hour; eligible for overtime
