Valier Senior Center in Valier, MT is looking for a Part - Time Cook Assistant. An Assistant Cook is needed for a local Senior Center. The assistant cook will assist in all aspects of food production to ensure quality food service. The assistant cook reports directly to the cook, will assist the cook in preparing and serving congregate meals, home delivered meals, and as needed, snacks for activities as approved by the Senior Center Manager in a sanitary and timely manner. Follow recipes, use portion controls, and use presentation specifications as set by senior center guidelines. Assist in doing inventories and restocking items as needed. Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining area. Practice good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills. Have the understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the kitchen. Assist in cleaning and sanitizing the walk-in cooler/freezer and storage areas. Receive, monitor, and report on commodities received. Make sure they are stored in a locked, secure area. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with co-workers, manager, board members, and the public. Assist in keeping control of, and properly storing commodities. Assist in receiving incoming food shipments. Be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Perform additional duties, as assigned, which may include head cook duties. ServSafe Certification preferred / obtained by the end of employment probationary period.
