Brief Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated entry level Coordinator, Production and Supply Chain to join our team full-time. In this role, you will support our schedulers and steel planners, ensuring the smooth coordination and execution of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of scheduling and steel planning within the manufacturing industry and be eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to our team's success.

Essential Functions:

  • Assisting schedulers and steel planners with developing and maintaining project schedules.

  • Coordinating with various departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials.

  • Monitoring project timelines and identifying potential delays or issues.

  • Supporting the planning and allocation of resources for steel fabrication and installation.

  • Updating and maintaining scheduling and planning documents and systems.

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure alignment and effective communication.

  • Performing other tasks as needed to support the scheduling and SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process.

  • Serve as backup to the assistant scheduler, scheduler, and steel planner as required, ensuring continuity and support during peak periods or absences.

Other Important Details

  • Act as a liaison between various departments, including Sales, Production Control, Compliance, Production Supervisors, Quality Control, Shipping, Accounting, and Vendors.

  • Ensure the safe operation of UP Rail, including securing railcars, maintaining product quality, and managing rail access to avoid demurrage.

  • Delegate tasks or raise concerns about activities that may violate Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

  • Make decisions and recommendations regarding procedures, production material purchases, and inventory policies that directly impact operating costs and profitability.

  • Provide recommendations and make decisions with consideration for lead times and production rates.

  • The role is on-site, requiring your presence at our location.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 4+ years of work/educational experience or associate's degree

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Basic understanding of production planning and scheduling.

  • High attention to detail and ability to follow up on items or issues.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Highly Qualified

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain or Operations Management

  • Knowledge of QAD, Radley, Cyberquery and Access systems.

  • Familiarity with steel purchasing and tubing processes.

  • Prior experience with master scheduling utilizing production family methodologies and MRP (Material Requirements Planning)

  • Experience with sales and operations planning processes
