NiSource Manager Renewable Asset Management in Valparaiso, Indiana
Job Summary
The Manager of Renewable Assets is responsible for creating, leading, and implementing the asset management strategies for NIPSCO's Renewable Generation portfolio to ensure the successful execution of asset onboarding and achieving Operational Excellence for our current and future state Renewable Assets.
Essential Functions
Display leadership and support to provide a safe work environment

Lead the Performance Engineers and Asset Managers within the renewable asset department by eliminating roadblocks and continuously providing strategic direction based on leadership feedback
Coach, provide timely feedback, and clarity of purpose and direction while giving the opportunity for all employees to reach their maximum potential and contribution
Ensure alignment of corporate strategies within the current business environment by maintaining industry, regulatory and economic knowledge. Apply industry best practices to integrate knowledge areas for optimum asset health and production.
Manage staff in the development of asset estimates, budgets, schedules, risk identification, and scope
Control and own all contracts for all of Generation’s renewable assets through the Asset Managers. Lead, collaborate, negotiate, read, write, develop, and analyze to ensure compliance with these contracts.
Responsible as a main stakeholder for generation’s renewable KPI’s from an adherence and accuracy perspective
Aggregate and consolidate data and information to present to leadership in a concise and straightforward format to drive key business decisions and O&M activities. Work with leadership teams to develop and drive internal alignment on asset-level strategy and determine annual objectives.
Lead the reporting requirements from a NERC GADS perspective
Ensure that utilization of the company's assets are maximized by coordinating business planning and Asset Management processes with internal stakeholders. Continually prioritize across assets to identify and focus on the key value drivers.
Lead the development of all commercial processes and procedures for renewable assets. Ensure all reporting requirements and deadlines are met from an operational and asset management perspective.
Lead the performance management and analytics team to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate reporting
Provide strategic guidance and timely information to maintenance and operational teams for balanced decision-making regarding risks and execution
Provide Executive Level asset updates from a performance and contractual perspective
Provide timely, relevant, and quantifiable information to their Directors and Vice Presidents to assist them with balanced decision-making regarding asset management and/or financial opportunities
Ensures all internal and external stakeholders are aligned to support successful transition of all renewable assets from project phase into operations phase.
Support the commercial teams for the upcoming renewable energy project phases & Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)
Motivate, encourage, and eliminate roadblocks for all renewable energy departments including metering, billing, compliance, regulatory, operations planning, environmental, accounting, market participant, and asset optimization
Act as an advisor on at least one renewable energy industry group (such as EPRI)
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Business/Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited university or college
Minimum 7 years individual or combined experience in one or more of the following: renewable energy, project management, electric utility operations, electric utility maintenance, engineering, legal/contractual.
Must have the ability to lead and function in multi-discipline teams across multiple sites High
Ability to coach, develop and motivate employees to perform at high levels of productivity High
Strong organizational planning and business administration skills High
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills High
Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills High
Working knowledge of accounting, finance, and analytical processes Medium
Previous experience with leveraging Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) for business needs Medium
Working knowledge of all aspects of a regulated electric utility Medium
Proficient in Microsoft 365 Applications High
Working knowledge of data management and business intelligence software Low
Valid drier's license.

$125,800.00 - $188,600.00
