Clark College Admissions Recruiter - Rural Transfer Recruiter in Vancouver, Washington

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, exempt Admissions Recruiter for 13th year rural transition recruitment in the Entry Services Department. This position serves as a direct liaison between Clark College and students specified rural high schools participating in the Gates Foundation grant.   The Year Rural Transition Recruiter will conduct regular outreach and engagement actions with high school students, including but not limited to, applying to Clark College, financial aid and scholarship preparation and completion, educating students about dual credit opportunities, and providing direct support with other admissions activities, preparing students for their orientation, and class registration experience. The Transition Recruiter will work closely with the High School College and Career Readiness Specialist at the rural high schools through regular communication, collaboration, data sharing, and training to support students' transition from high school to postsecondary opportunities. This position will also serve as the on-campus point of contact for students enrolling from the rural high schools and assist with retention of these students and department referrals. Reporting to the Director of Entry Services, the Rural Transition Recruiter will also support the Director and the Recruitment team in event planning and execution, recruitment, and engagement of prospective students within the college service district. This position requires high quality customer service and coordination through collaborative efforts across the division and the campus and provides a welcoming and inclusive experience for Clark College's diverse student population.   This position is grant funded for 3 years, with the option to continue after the grant is over, dependent upon funding.   At Clark, we value equity, diversity, and inclusion. Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate cultural competence, including awareness and understanding of historically underrepresented populations, and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Establish and maintain regular communication and coordination with High School College and Career Readiness Specialists to ensure seamless transition from high school to Clark College.

Be a generalist on all options related to enrollment: including options for programs and degrees, paying for college, student success resources, placement, student life, etc., and use that information to advise students through the enrollment process.

Serve as lead enrollment contact to prospective and new students from the designated rural high schools. Includes responding to prospective and new student inquiries/requests, gathering information for students, and making referrals as needed. 

Guide and navigate prospective and new students through the college's onboarding process, including: applying for admission, researching funding sources, career and program pathway clarity, program referrals, etc. 

Serve as point of contact for enrolled students from the designated rural high schools to ensure their smooth transition to college, academic success, and persistence from term to term. 

Provide outreach, including presentations and orientation to new and prospective students, high school counselors, Clark College advisors, and other parties as need to promote Clark College collaborative opportunities. 

Plan, facilitate, host outreach events for high school students, staff, faculty, and family members to participate.
