HP Inc. Head of Media, North America in Vancouver, Washington

The Head of Media for North America is a fundamental and critical role for driving the direction the Media organization inside HP. This role will not only manage our external media agency, but also run the internal agency consisting of Media Planning and Activation. The Head of Media NA will need to set out the direction and vision for where HP should strategically bet across Media, while working closely with marketing leadership to bring strategies to action. This role needs to balance the needs of utterly understanding our consumer and commercial businesses.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive NA media strategy that aligns with the overall marketing objectives and target audience.

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify target audience demographics, media consumption habits, and market trends to inform media planning decisions.

  • Oversee media buying and negotiation across all channels, including traditional media (TV, radio, print) and digital media (search, social, display). Conducted internally and within our agency.

  • Manage and lead a team of media professionals, including media planners, buyers, and analysts.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media vendors and agencies.

  • Stay up to date on the latest media trends and technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.

  • Develop and implement best practices for media planning, buying, and measurement.

  • Ensure compliance with all media regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications: 

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • 10+ years of experience in a media agency or similar environment, minimum 5 years of people management experience.

  • Deep understanding of traditional and digital media channels, and the ability to develop integrated media plans.

  • Strong knowledge of the consumer and commercial landscape (w/ deep understanding of ABM is a plus)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

  • Experience in managing large budgets.

  • A global mindset and the ability to work effectively with teams in different countries and cultures.
