Clark College Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 1 - Basic Education for Adults in Vancouver, Washington

The work schedule is 10 am - 8:30 pm Monday through Thursday, with optional flexibility for earlier hours when nighttime capacity is not needed. In person work is required. Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time classified Instruction & Classroom Support Tech position. This position & Classroom Support Tech is responsible for performing instructional, classroom, office, and navigational support services related to Basic Education for Adults programming for students in the afternoon and evening in the Transitional Studies unit. This position is a contract-funded position with a year-to-year contract (expected duration through September 2028). Continuation is dependent upon annual renewal of contract funding. Clark College Basic Education for Adults prepares students for college and careers. We offer English as a Second Language (ESL) and High School+ diploma (HS+) course options. Our English as a Second Language courses are offered at all levels and High School Completion courses provide credit toward the High School+ diploma and prepare students for the GED®. - Administer and monitor tests for students in Basic Education for Adults consistent with testing policies and procedures.
- Lead and assist with application and registration sessions.
- Help students apply to the college, complete Basic Education for Adults enrollment process, login to their My Clark accounts, and register for courses.
- Provide frontline customer service and answer Basic Education for Adults phone and emails.
- Follow up with identified students in need of testing, registration, or onboarding assistance.
- Assist program staff with direct student outreach.
- Produce reports to identify students in need of support or testing and provide reports to staff and faculty.
- Maintain electronic records, test records, and test record security.
- Perform data entry and accurate record keeping.
- Review attendance and class records and follow up with faculty to ensure records are up to date.
- Support with Basic Education for Adults filing and other projects.
- Perform other duties as needed and required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal communication, and tech skills.

The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period, and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
