We are looking for a Retail Pharmacy Technician to support our outpatient practice within our Retail Pharmacy team. This position will support our clinic's out of our business office in Vancouver, WA. Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours M-F Location: Compass Oncology Retail Pharmacy (Vancouver, Washington) Salary Range: $20.90- $33.54 per hour **Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise as well as internal employee equity considerations. Scope: Under the supervision of a physician or pharmacist, provides in-office dispensing of oral drugs to oncology patients. This includes technical aspects of oral medication dispensing and delivery, record keeping, and inventory control, as well as assisting with patient financial assistance and patient monitoring. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains accurate patient records including patient demographics, current medication list,disease states list, allergy list, insurance information, and prescription information. Utilizes pharmacy management system to screen for drug interactions Processes prescription and bills insurance for payment Submits prior authorizations Assists with applying for patient financial assistance through manufacturer or foundation programs for high dollar oral drugs Acts as a resource for other staff on dispensing oral drugs Assists with ordering and ensuring that the most cost-effective drugs are ordered from vendors Receives, verifies, and processes drug orders Assists with drug recalls and expired or non-utilized drug returns Prepares and labels prescriptions and ensures they are checked for accuracy by physician or pharmacist Ensures prescriptions and paperwork are being signed off on by physician or pharmacist Obtains patient or patient representative signature on all medications being dispensed Files and stores prescription hardcopies Maintains and files daily reports Documents all patient interactions in the EHR Tracks and reports monthly inventory in pharmacy management system Assists with patient monitoring activities including prescription refills, prescription adherence, and prescription persistence Interacts with patients regarding prescription dispensing, financial assistance, and patient follow-up Maintains safety of the MID by adhering to infection-control procedures, policies, and regulations Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Entry level position with Experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred. Certified Technician certificate recommended, unless required by state law.
