A technician at this level supports three or more key functions in the location's Quality Engineering department. They will be proficient in most department tasks, demonstrated by performing a variety of technical tasks. They are cross trained in a variety of quality roles and will effectively train less experienced staff or production members as assigned. REQUIREMENTS High School diploma required, AA degree or technical certificate preferred 8 years of related quality/inspection experience in manufacturing Working intermediate level knowledge of excel, SPC, and graphing tools Able to read blueprints, including dimensional drawings and GDT wide expertise in inspection and quality tools Knowledge of SAP preferred ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs complex functional tests and inspection following established procedures and work instructions. Will update or create new work instructions related to quality processes, may approve the work of other workers. Maintains test machines, test fixtures, instruments and documentation related to department procedures. Will be responsible for collection and storage of metrics or other key departmental records/data. May present this data in a variety of forums. Troubleshoots and repairs test and inspection equipment utilizing standard techniques for calibration and testing. The technician 4 will apply subject matter knowledge of all inspection tools and practices and will be widely cross trained. Evaluates known quality issues identified by test and/or inspection results and reports findings in a professional and technical way to key members appropriately. Demonstrates business acumen in determining what and with whom to share information. May train others on report writing using QA
