To support our mission, we're looking for a Software Development Tools Technical Strategist to unify and modernize our software development tools and processes across our Print software solutions teams.

Job Summary:

The Strategic Program Leader, Tools role will play a pivotal role in assessing the current landscape of software tools used across our various software development teams. Your primary objective will be to develop a comprehensive tools consolidation strategy, aimed at standardizing our toolset to enhance development processes for Windows and iOS applications, cloud platforms, and firmware. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, tool evaluation, process improvement, communication skills, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of software development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough inventory of existing software development tools across all teams, assessing their usage, efficiency, and alignment with our development goals.

  • Identify redundancies and gaps in the current toolset, considering the unique needs of development for Windows and iOS applications, cloud platforms, and firmware.

  • Develop a comprehensive tools consolidation strategy that prioritizes commonality, modernity, and efficiency, ensuring the selected tools meet current and future development needs.

  • Work closely with development teams to understand their requirements, workflows, and challenges to ensure the proposed tools strategy enhances productivity and product quality.

  • Facilitate the evaluation, selection, and adoption of a unified set of software development tools, across the entire Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Lead the implementation of the tools consolidation strategy, including training programs for development teams, migration plans for existing projects, and the establishment of best practices.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of the new toolset, gathering feedback from software development teams to make continuous improvements.

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in software development tools and practices to ensure our toolset remains state-of-the-art.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Typically has 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development or a related technical role, with a strong understanding of software development tools and processes.

  • Proven experience in evaluating, selecting, and implementing software development tools.

  • Familiarity with development processes for Windows and iOS applications, cloud platforms, and firmware.

  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of driving change and adoption of new technologies across diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

  • Knowledge of tools used in the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $137,000.00 -- $211,000.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
