Position Summary

Safely operate multiple pieces of technical equipment on a liquid filling line which includes equipment change overs, preventative maintenance, and quality verifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares batches of raw materials for production processing according to specifications and established procedures.

  • Ability to obtain materials from inventory while utilizing scales, pumps, or automated equipment to accurately weigh chemicals.

  • Highly proficient in the safe operation, set-up, repair, preventive/predictive maintenance of compounding equipment.

  • Maintain required production, complete repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers for multiple (three or more) areas in blending and compounding areas (i.e., Appearance batching, AC batching, Ac auto blending, Fuel auto blending, California scents compounding, etc.).

  • Collaborate with technical personnel for installation, troubleshoot, adjustments and process improvements for multiple (three or more) areas in blending and compounding.

  • Have a subject matter expert knowledge of multiple operations and the ability to demonstrate process proficiency.

  • Ability to understand gallons and pounds conversions and calculations.

  • Set up, change over, and monitor equipment.

  • Involved in preventive maintenance (PMs) for assigned equipment.

  • Specific knowledge of chemical properties.

  • Maintain work areas and tools according to Visual Management (identifying abnormalities) and 5S Standards.

  • Maintain all required records accurately in accordance with GMP and accurately follow batch records.

  • Understand safety requirements (Job Safety Analysis, lock-out/tag-out, pinch points, PPE).

  • Understanding and conducting quality checks via measuring techniques/standards.

  • Able to follow written/visual instructions including Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work.

  • Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and verbalize equipment issues to the lead and/or maintenance.

  • Lean Manufacturing - assist in the continuous improvement efforts and seek opportunities to eliminate waste.

  • Training of other colleagues/contractors.

  • Other duties as assigned due to business need.

We we are looking for

  • High School Diploma/GED or 5 years manufacturing experience, or mechanical experience.

  • Mechanical/technical aptitude.

  • Ability to accurately use gauges, scales, pumps, and tools.

  • Ability to follow hazardous material handling guides and instructions.

  • Ability to follow and comprehend detailed instructions, technical manuals, and prints.

  • TPM/Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to train others.

  • Problem solving skills (Fishbone/5Why experience is a plus)

  • Ability to create/follow/improve standard work procedures

  • Decision making skills

  • Organizational and computer skills.

  • Follow all prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.

  • Physical capabilities: Lifting up to 60#, with the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, stretching, climbing, twisting, turning, standing, pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending.

  • For the Blending department, basic understanding of chemical mixing.
