Empire State University Visiting Assistant Professor of Business - PRODiG+ Post Doctoral Fellow in Various Locations, New York

Empire State University is pleased to offer a Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Business in our School of Business. The program is designed to advance two goals (1) increasing the number and share of diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a department and participate in the offering of programs that serve learners across New York State and around the world, through the university's robust online course offerings. The department has teaching needs in International Business, Business Ethics, Business Law, and other related courses.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and teaching online courses in Business.

  • Mentoring students as they develop and pursue degree programs.

  • Participating in curriculum development and academic assessment in the Department Business, International Business, and Marketing.

  • Participating in university service.

  • Developing and maintaining an active research agenda.

Preference will be given to candidates who are:

  • Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.

  • From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.

  • Be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Have a PhD or relevant terminal degree from an accredited institution completed prior to start date.

  • Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.

Special Information:

  • Two-year, post-doctoral fellowship.

  • Office hours will vary to accommodate student needs.

  • Some evening and/or weekend engagement with students may be is required.
