Minimum Qualifications Two years of college-level courses in (specific field of biological science); OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional Required Qualifications Experience performing fieldwork in rough terrain Ability to help maintain a safe work environment while in the field Strong critical thinking skills Strong communication skills Strong attention to details Strong ability to follow instructions well Cultural humility Awareness of the need to honor and respect Indigenous Knowledge Emerging leadership and management skills Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity Position Duties 80% Assist with fieldwork data collection, with a primary focus on soil science. Help collect Assessment Inventorying and Monitoring (AIM) data per BLM protocols by establishing plots on BLM and Tribal lands. Collect soil data (soil horizon characterization) and other related data in a soil pit in each established plot. Collect aggregated soil samples and SOS collections as needed. Secure soil samples and store in an appropriate manner, so as to not degrade samples. 20% Assist storing and lab specimens (eDNA, soil samples) to labs as needed, and with provisioning the project with food and supplies.
