JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Extension is seeking a highly organized and innovative Project Manager to lead activities related to the Butcher School, TOPCORP regulator training, and other grant-funded projects when funding is received. This role will be crucial in managing and leading project activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring successful execution from inception through completion. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing engaging content and fostering collaborations with partner universities and interdisciplinary teams. This part-time position is wholly grant and gift funded. Hours will vary based on available funding and workload.

Key Responsibilities: Butcher School: Coordination: Oversee, lead, and coordinate project activities, resources, and information between team members to ensure efficient operation and successful program delivery. Progress Monitoring: Lead in tracking project progress, resolve any issues, and ensure milestones and deadlines are met. Implement solutions to keep projects on track. Primary Point of Contact: Act as the lead point of contact for stakeholders, including prospective and current students, faculty, and partners. Manage communication from application through graduation. Recruitment: Lead recruitment efforts to attract qualified candidates to the Butcher School program. Develop and implement robust strategies to increase program enrollment. Meetings and Collaboration: Lead and contribute to meetings regarding project activities, collaborating with team members to enhance program effectiveness. Funding: Lead and coordinate funding streams for butcher school including WIA funding for eligible students (across 22 independent WIBs, funded annually), grants (L&I, funded 3 years), and sponsorships. Topcorp Collaborations: Partnership Development: Develop and maintain close collaborations with partner universities (University of Texas at Austin and Colorado School of Mining) in oil and gas regulator trainings. Ensure strong relationships and effective communication with academic and industry partners. Applied Research: Work closely with university-based research faculty to develop and conduct applied research relevant to state-wide customer needs. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations across multiple Extension Program Teams and external institutions. Team Collaboration: Engage effectively with diverse populations and audiences. Contribute to and lead interdisciplinary initiatives to address complex challenges and advance research goals. Funding: Collaborate with partner universities to maintain and expand annual gifts (funded 2024) and develop new funding sources, (MER grant DOE, pending) Energy Team: Content Development: Create original and engaging educational content to reach and inform audiences through innovative methods, including online courses, videos, webinars, and electronic publications. Complement traditional publications and in-person presentations with modern digital approaches. Educational Innovation: Explore and implement new educational methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences and utreach. Stay current with industry trends and incorporate them into content development strategies. Funding: Coordinate potential grant-funded opportunities, including geothermal ag opportunities (DOE, funded 1 year), agrivoltaics research (PDA, pending), R-Step Energy Collaboration (DEP/DOE, funded 3 years), IIJA Orphaned Well Plugging for PA farmers and landowners (DOE, pending), Orphaned Well Identification for PA farmers and landowners (EDF, pending), Methane Reduction Program for Conventional Marginal Wells (DOE, pending).
